If you want a more traditional pub experience The North End has darts and billiards for the more traditional bar/pub experience if dancing isn't your thing. A friend of mine regularly goes there and it's a cheery unpretentious place that's fun in general. Not that it's a primary motivation but fringe benefits are fringe benefits.Īs far as where to go you can't go wrong with Big Chicks. Plus being comfortable in one's own skin and able to have a good time means that the minority population of women who attend these bars with friends potentially look with favor upon yours truly.

All in good fun as long as everyone doesn't get handsy beyond what's okay. Again I can only speak for myself but I'm secure enough in my hetero masculinity that I have no problem dancing with other men after the air is cleared. Since you said he's 'cool' with it then I'd hope he has the tact and grace to graciously decline such attention but remain friendly. He's a man in a gay bar, the likelyhood of being hit on by another man goes up accordingly. your friend's attitude towards proceedings.

Cute boys round up at this bar most nights for after. Speaking as a straight man who's been to multiple gay/lesbian bars/clubs with LGBT friends over the years the main thing is less about the vibe of an establishment vs. A great bar with lots of variety and different types of music to please almost every crowd.
